Cross-Country Skiing in the Lechtal

Glide into a world far from everyday life ...

The cross-country skiing paradise of the Lechtal nature park region is marked by snow-covered forest routes and wide panorama routes, which lead us past striking mountain formations and picturesque and small villages and municipalities! Here you can experience the nature in white!

Fresh snow means plenty of work for our busy trackers. With state-of-the-art machines they prepare a dense network of tracks for the numerous cross-country skiers in the valley. 190 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails criss-cross the nature park region and along them you can experience the winter magic of the Tirolean Lechtal. The dense network of cross-country skiing tracks leads through snow-covered forests, along the characteristic floodplains of the Lech river, which glisten like crystals in the frost and across snow-white pasture landscapes. Classic or skating – all villages of the region are connected to the main track, the Lechtal cross-country skiing trail. Each of the villages of course offers rest stops for recharging and for discovering also the culinary delights of the Lechtal.

The Tirolean
Seal of Approved Quality for Cross-Country Skiing Trails

The cross-country skiing trails from Steeg to Häselgehr have been awarded with the Tirolean seal of approved quality for cross-country skiing trails!
The top quality of the network of trails in the Upper and Central Lechtal is thus guaranteed.
The areas have to have a minimum number of trails and a good standard when it comes to grooming, orientation, marking and securing of dangerous spots.

If you prefer to spend some quiet hours in nature, we recommend trying our beautiful loop tours. The autonomous cross-country skiing trails in the side valleys are perfect for one-day or half-day excursions, since they are not connected with the main route, the Lechtal cross-country skiing trail.  All trails have been awarded with the Tirolean seal of quality for cross-country skiing trails and are found in our updated cross-country skiing map for the 2015/16 season. The map includes  an extensive cross-country skiing trail map as well as information on altitude profiles, technical data, altitude gain and the kilometres of the respective routes.

Many of our cross-country skiing trails are moreover barrier-free and at numerous spots Nordic sliders were installed, which ensure that you won’t have to put off your skis for crossing the road. Come and see for yourself how fantastic our cross-country skiing offer is!
