Welcome to

Bach

The municipality of Bach is located at an altitude of about 1,100 meters. It also includes the small hamlet of Stockach, which even has its own church, its own fire department and a music band. In total, the community has about 600 inhabitants*. The municipality of Bach is located in the heart of the Lechtal Nature Park region and has been able to preserve its original beauty and magic to this day.

The impressive waterfall and the natural viewing platform of the Modertal valley belong to one of the most beautiful destinations of our region, just like the Saxerwand of the Madautal valley, which is known far beyond our borders and where the Geierwally once dug out the eagle's nest.

In winter, Bach impresses you with the sunny and wonderfully groomed cross-country trails and winter hiking trails as well as 2 cozy winter magic huts.

Another highlight is the new and modern "8-person cabin Jöchelspitzbahn", which takes you up to an altitude of around 1,800 meters in winter and summer. A botanical nature trail, the Lechtal museum of local history and an impressive panoramic view of the surrounding mountains of the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps round off the mountain experience on the Jöchelspitze.

Long-distance hikers also explore the rich and idyllic nature of Bach on their Lechweg stage between Holzgau and Elbigenalp and enjoy the tranquility amid colorful mountain meadows.

Tradition and customs are close to the hearts of the inhabitants of Bach. The two music bands and the shooting club are firm cultural components of the Bach/Stockach community. In addition, the community was recently awarded the title of "Family Friendly Community".

With two grocery stores, a sports store and a colorful handicraft store, directly in the center of the village, there are of course also numerous cozy places to stop for refreshments in Bach and several alpine pastures and huts that warmly welcome hikers and mountain bikers.
