Mountain railroads in the Lechtal & in the region

Mountain enthusiasts, families, active people, hikers and also skiers - all can be equally enthusiastic about this comfortable and at the same time spectacular ascent. This, of course, refers to the numerous mountain railroads that can be found in the area surrounding the Lech Valley. They all bring you tangibly close to the mountains and peaks and, once at the top, offer impressive panoramas at their mountain stations.

Trails that often take several hours on foot are shortened in just a few minutes by cable car and you are already standing in the middle of the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps or in the middle of the Ski Arlberg slopes. The modern mountain railroads and cable cars in the Lechtal and in the immediate vicinity of the region, such as in Warth and Lech am Arlberg or in the nature park region of Reutte, offer you an impressive mountain experience.

Mountaineers, winter hikers, skiers, snowboarders and also sun-seekers are rewarded with magnificent vantage points, cozy mountain restaurants and in winter with perfectly groomed slopes.

Summer mountain railroads

Summer at lofty heights and close to the peaks of the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps is no problem thanks to modern mountain railroads. Here the motto is "Get in, climb up and be amazed". In just a few minutes, you can comfortably climb numerous meters of altitude into the mountain world of the Lech Valley. You also save your energy for the really important things - incomparable views and breathtaking mountain landscapes.

Austria's largest contiguous ski area

Ski Arlberg

Located just outside the gates of the Lech Valley is the Arlberg - Austria's largest ski area with 300 spectacular kilometers of slopes and more than 200 kilometers of deep-snow runs.

This ski area is already located in the neighboring province of Vorarlberg, but this does not stand in the way of almost limitless skiing pleasure from the Lech Valley. Quite the opposite - in just a few minutes drive you are already on the slopes in Warth.

Our free ski bus takes you quickly and easily to the Warth-Schröcken ski area. All you need is a valid 3-Valley or Ski Arlberg ski pass.

In the Lech Valley, the motto is "Time for more space". What this means can be felt and also experienced, especially in winter. Passionate skiers, but also all those who are just learning to ski, appreciate the enormous amount of space in the region and on the nearby Arlberg.

5 smaller lift operations in Holzgau, Elbigenalp, Stanzach, Pfafflar and Gramais, as well as the family-friendly Jöchelspitze ski area in Bach, with 5 kilometers of slopes and a modern gondola lift, offer skiing pleasure in the idyllic nature of the Tyrolean Lech Valley.
