Lechweg Stages

Along the Lechweg from the source to the fall you accompany the wild river Lech from its origin through the Tyrolean Lech Valley to Füssen in the Allgäu, where the river reaches its first barrage. Like a journey through life, the onward 125 km trail also runs through the Lech Valley - one of the most pristine regions in Tyrol.

Breathtaking views, mystical power spots, cultural features and, above all, untouched nature await you. The Lechweg can be hiked in three different variants. Whether classic in 7 days, leisurely in 8 days or decelerating in 10 hiking days - a hike on the Lechweg is far away from everyday life and hectic. Come with us on an unforgettable hiking trip along the Lechweg and in the heart of the Tyrolean Lech Valley.

Classic variant in 7 days

The 7-day Lechweg variant proposal is particularly suitable for hikers with a good physical condition. The route is demanding and requires a certain level of fitness, as a considerable distance is covered every day. The challenge here lies in the total distance that must be covered during the hike. Despite the demanding stage lengths, this classic Lechweg variant rewards hikers with breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences in one of the most beautiful regions of Austria and Germany.

Comfortable variant in 8 days

The 8-day Lechweg variant proposal is ideal for anyone who likes to hike and experience the beauty of the Lech Valley. Even less trained and athletic hikers can manage the route by adjusting their daily stages accordingly. A route that is too long can reduce the enjoyment of hiking, so it is recommended to adjust the pace and plan the stages so that they are enjoyable. This way, the Lechweg hike will be a pleasure for those who want to discover the nature and landscape of the Austrian Lech Valley.

Lechweg grinding

The Lechweg loops are a great addition and alternative to the Lechweg and offer even less experienced hikers a way to discover the beautiful landscape around the Lech River. These eight half-day and day tours are all closely linked to the river and the Lechweg and meet the criteria of the "Leading Quality Trail". The difficulty levels vary from easy to moderate trails, but the nature experience on each route is incomparable.

The loops are a perfect way to explore the region and enjoy the beauty of the landscape to the fullest. Hikers can choose from a variety of routes, depending on their interest and fitness level. No matter which route you choose, you will be amazed by the breathtaking nature and beauty of the Lech Valley.

All path sections

The Lechweg offers 15 beautiful sections that lead from the high mountains to the foothills of the Alps or vice versa. Hikers can plan their stages individually and choose according to their condition and ambition.

The times given refer to pure walking times without breaks and refreshment stops. In total, about 3021 meters of altitude uphill and 4098 meters of altitude downhill must be overcome, which corresponds to about 40 hours of walking time.

The Lechweg is connected to public transport, so hikers can also cover parts of the route by bus to adapt their route. The Lechweg thus offers every hiker a perfect opportunity to discover the beauty of the Lech Valley and to plan their route individually.
