Jausenstation Wase 1,320m

If you wonder about the hut’s name, we’d like to point out the Lechtal dialect word “Wasa”, which is the origin of the name and means “wet field” but also “bog” and refers to the area in which the hut lies. The humid and fertile ground isn’t a hindrance for exploring the surroundings. Near the hut is a varied fauna and flora, which you can observe and enjoy. The highlight offered at the hut are the popular tobogganing nights. In good snow conditions sledges and toboggans are transported to the hut with a tractor and after a hearty snack one races downhill into the valley equipped with toboggans and headlamps.

The good plain cuisine of the hut focuses on regionality and seasonality of the ingredients used. The hearty “Hauswurst” (homemade sausage) is served with juicy sauerkraut and traditional Tiroleans dumplings. The Sojer cheese dairy delivers milk and cheese products, the Sonnweber butchery the meat and sausage products and the Wolf apiary in Grünau the honey.

Tobogganing nights on Fridays & Wednesdays (in good snow conditions); from 7:00 p.m. onwards tractor transport from Gasthof Alpenblick in Bach
