BALCONY OF THE LECHTAL
From the sun terrace of the Almwirtschaft Stablalm in Elmen at an altitude of 1,412m you enjoy an impressive view of the Upper Lechtal and the striking scenic features of the Lech floodplains. Near the Pfeilspitze summit and the Kreuzspitze summit and the mountain ranges of the Allgäu and Lechtal Alps in view, you can experience a cool winter day on this sunny balcony of the Lechtal, the soothingly warming sunrays on your face. You can either undertake a hike or snowshoe hike to get to the Stablalm. Whichever way you choose, you will be rewarded with a hearty afternoon snack.
Throughout from 26 December – 8 January 2017
28 January - Easter
Closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays)
At the Stablalm one knows exactly where the ingredients for the hearty speck for the afternoon snacks are coming from. It is carefully made from the meat of their own pigs. It is cured for four weeks and then smoked over spruce wood and cedar, traditionally seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and juniper berries and served with cheese and bread.
OUR WINTER TIP
Winter herbal tea hike to the Stablalm: Guided winter hike with a mountain guide who knows the area well (among others, Olympic champion Sigrid Wolf) and herbal tea tasting afterwards. You get an insight into the world of herbs and their effects on body, spirit and soul. A MUST for tea enthusiasts!
