Simms Waterfall Via Ferrata in Holzgau

The Lechtal has one more attraction. The Simms waterfall via ferrata in Holzgau has been officially opened a short time ago. It is in the Höhenbachtal valley, directly at the Simms waterfall.

With the new via ferrata in Holzgau the Lechtal has now a via ferrata offering several advantages: You can conveniently get there in 20 minutes along the hiking trails in the Höhenbachtal valley and on your way back you can take another option across the 200m-long suspension bridge. The route runs along the rocks in the area of the Simms waterfall.

Next to the access point is a rucksack storage place in the bear’s cave and a brief exercise route. A special highlight are the three rope bridges, two of which cross the roaring Simms waterfall. Crossing these rope bridges is a special experience for the climbers and onlookers alike.

The via ferrata features three different sections at different levels of difficulty. That is why the via ferrata offers not only interesting passages for families, but also for experienced climbers. At the Gamsfelsen is the easiest section of the route (B/C), if you cross the rope bridge to the Steinbockfelsen you must climb a brief section of the difficulty of C. If you try the “Adlervariante” at the norther side, you must conquer a brief D/E section. At the highest point you get to the Gamsblick vantage point from where you enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Höhenbachtal valley and the waterfall.
