Ski tour to the Bretterspitze

The ski tour to the second highest peak of the Hornbach chain, the Bretterspitze with 2,609 m, runs mainly in northern exposure, only the last 200 meters or so to the summit cross run in the east. The ascent begins at the small parking lot in Hinterhornbach. In the lower part it follows the road and later the summer path towards Kaufbeurer Haus. The tour is demanding and requires very stable conditions. It is a ski touring highlight in the Allgäu Alps.
