Climbing Holzgauer Wetterspitze - East Ridge VI-

The Holzgauer Wetterspitze is 2,895 meters high and thus the sixth highest peak in the Lechtal Alps. The approach to the beginning of the east ridge of the Holzgauer Wetterspitze at about 2,525 meters is long and lonely. The wild east ridge is rarely climbed due to the long approach and the sporadic protection of the route. The Bearded Vulture variation runs slightly north of the actual east ridge for the first six pitches. This is followed by another seven pitches via the east ridge route. On the first ascent of the Bearded Vulture Variant, two bolts were set and two other bolts were left in place.
