The valley of the cross-country skiers.
The 50-km-long cross-country ski runs and numerous circuits are the ideal places for beginners as well as for experts!
Sports medicine has proven it! Cross-country skiing is one of the healthiest ways to improve your fitness level! The Lech Valley has got numerous cross-country ski runs. A total of approx. 120 km of well traced runs. Special attention must be surely given to the Lech Valley cross-country ski run that connects – non-stop - Steeg to Forchach for a total of approx. 50 kilometres. In almost all towns there are various circuits. The number of skating runs is increasing too. It does not matter which technique you prefer, classic or skating, because these pistes have something in common: they are prepared and traced at best. These ideal conditions are guaranteed by the members of the Lech Valley Tourist Information Office. They are real “early birds”. They take care - thanks to an ultramodern equipment - that the cross-country ski runs are ready for use (latest) at about 10 a.m. If the snowfall is very abundant during the night or in the morning, the piste preparation may be delayed but the best ski conditions are restored as soon as possible. Very important! All cross-country ski runs can be used at no charge.
Catch the Hiking Pin!
The hiking pin is since many years a big hit for lots of cross-country skiers. Against a little payment you can receive the ski hiking pass at your Tourist Information Office. You should keep this pass with you when you are on tour so that you can stamp it at the suitably marked stations. Once you have collected three stamps you can go to your Tourist Office and exchange the hiking pass for your favourite hiking pin.
