Fallerschein/
Fallerschein is the largest alpine pasture village in the region: 40 block chalets in the middle of mountain meadows, 1 dairy and 2 refreshment places. Opening times: Summer until 30th November
Suspension bridge
A suspension bridge over the Lech river connects the village of Frochach and the Schwarzwassertal Valley and the Frochach -Stanzach circular hiking path and Weißenbach. The bridge was built in 1906 and is 75 m long.
Madauer Ravine
From Bach on a narrow and winding road which is officially closed to motor traffic. After about a third of the way down a marked footpath wind to the left and on a small bridge cross the 64 m deep Medauer ravine. From there the scenically beautiful high path leads to just before Madau.
Hölltal Gorge – Path of the Senses
The Path of the Senses has been created by local artists. Wooden and steel artworks, mostly connected to the history of the valley, characterize this Path. You will encounter verses that encourage contemplation.
The Path starts on the right side of the “Maria Schnee“ pilgrimage church in Bschlabs. Here you should follow the direction sign to “Path of the Senses“ along a narrow path. On the steep trail towards Hölltal a contemplative text with the theme “Morning Walking“ announces the uniqueness of this Valley.
After crossing the rope bridge you will reach the Place of the Silence, that will be broken – in the worst case - by water drops. The Path of the Senses ends after 50 min walk. Afterwards you can observe at close range the wild romantic Hölltalschlucht (gorge) which is 45 m deep but – partly – only 40 cm large. You can proceed the excursion to Boden ( 1h) or go back to Bschlabs along the Bschlab High Path (1 3/4h).
Doser Waterfalls
The Doser waterfall is located in Luxnach, the northern part of the village. Normally, this waterfall roars wildly out of its rock grotto on April 24 , rushing down the steep drop in order to disappear on November 11 as suddenly as it appeared in spring. The reason for this natural phenomenon is still a mystery. There are various theories, e.g. the one about an underground lake overflowing in spring due to snowmelt. If escapes too early, it usually disappears a second time. |
