The Lech Valley and Allgäu Alps offer a big variety of hiking trails. There are many circular routes so that you can enjoy a very diversified landscape. The Lech Valley is crossed by numerous hiking trails.
The Eagle’s path, which was created last year, is the new highlight.
It is a long hiking path that crosses Tyrol from East to West. The whole trail between St. Johann in the Tyrolese lowlands and St. Anton am Arlberg has been divided into 31 stages. Stages 18 to 21, and alternatives 19 to 24, stretch through the Lech Valley Alps.
Beside the Eagle’s Path the Lech Valley offers many other long hiking trails. The most famous amongst them is – of course – the “E5“. It starts from the Lake of Constance, crosses the Lech Valley at the height of Holzgau and ends in Venice. Another popular trail is the E4 which goes from West to East. In the area of the Lech Valley it corresponds to the Lech Valley High Path (Höhenweg). This begins at the Arlberg and goes to east to the most beautiful mountain huts of the Lech Valley. In the area of the Memminger Hütte (Memming hut) these two European hiking trails intersect. In a comparatively shorter time you can walk along the “Heilbronn Höhenweg“. This leads you through the Allgäu Alps, from the “Rappensee Hütte” to the”Kemptener Hütte” (alpine huts).
The mountain guides of the Lech Valley would be glad to provide you with more details about the hiking trails. For further information please ask at your Tourist Information Office.
